It is an experience, a moment to build and bond, a never ending relationship between an artist and her canvas.
I recently got to chat with the 2019 Reflect Beauty Award judge, and beauty bombshell, on her self love routine.  Check it out!
On her morning routine…
My morning starts with thanking God for giving me the opportunity to live another day. I sing a “good morning” song to my dog and take her out to do her business and check out the weather. We come home, I get her situated and prepare myself for the day. I like to start the morning with a clean home. I normally light a candle, sage my home, straighten up, wash dishes, make my bed, make my coffee and prepare my breakfast–usually something colorful, either lots of fruit, or eggs with lots of veggies. Eating colorful food makes me very happy.
On launching her channel…
I created my channel to not only bring confidence to myself but to bring confidence to women who feel like they can relate to me. I grew up with very low self-esteem and did not gain confidence in myself until I was probably 30 (I’m 35 now). Once I figured out that by doing my own makeup, hair, and putting on a great outfit, I could change my self-perspective, I felt like I needed to share that feeling with other women.
On her vision going forward…
I come from a culture that is so conservative and critical. From birth, you are judged based on your skin color and weight. It doesn’t matter how good of a person you are, if you aren’t fair and skinny, you’re just not good enough. Because of that, I developed my platform of creativity, beauty, and fashion where I constantly pay homage to my culture, while expressing myself in a way that other women can look at me and say, “wow she’s so confident. I want to be confident like her.” Going forward, I want to be an inspiration for all women, of all cultures, and show them that when you hold your head high and see yourself as a Queen, magical things can happen in life and love.
On being the best version of herself…
Honestly, I think the number one thing that helps me to stay looking and feeling youthful is that I don’t stress very much. I have always been the type of person who searches for a solution rather than sulking in the problem. If I can’t find a solution to something, I just let it go and put it in God’s hands. I also eat a lot of vegetables and fruits and try to stay away from processed foods. I love to cook and frankly it’s true what they say, you are what you eat, so I eat lots of vibrant things!  I make a lot of natural face masks for my skin as well. I love to take walks with my dog and spend time with her because her happiness and sense of unconditional love is extremely contagious. And lastly, I am just grateful and happy, and truly believe that my outlook is what allows me to live a beautiful life.
On her biggest lesson learned in 2019…
Life is just way too short! Last year I lost friends to death, lost a job I thought I loved, and lost relationships with people I thought I would never stop talking to, but I quickly realized that life is short and you have to make the best of each and every day that you are gifted with it.
On what she’s reading right now…
Right now I’m reading “Pause, Making Time to Walk With God” by Kerry Connelly
and “The Magic” by Rhonda Byrne
On how she’s staying centered while social distancing…
During this time of self-quarantine, I am spending a lot of time talking to God first and foremost. Just believing that God has a plan behind all this madness. I am taking time to care for my immune system by making lots of natural juices and getting crafty with my recipes. I’m also creating makeup looks for my YouTube channel, which is something I’ve avoided doing for a long time. I have been talking to my favorite people (my family and closest friends), whether it be via phone call, FaceTime, or social media, laughing with one another and reminiscing on good times. Staying positive and grounded with like minded people is key for me during this self-quarantine time.
