Changing your hair color is an easy way to update your style for any season. Choosing the right hair color can be a bit tricky, however, since you never really know what a dye job will look like until it’s already complete. To start, keep in mind your skin tone and go for colors that will enhance its natural beauty.

Here’s a look at the hair colors trending this fall that are sure to compliment light to medium skin.

Caramel Ombré

You can spice things up as the weather cools down this fall with a toasty, rich caramel ombré. It lets you express all the enthusiasm you have for your naturally dark hair color while adding some lighter tones to warm and flatter your skin. Plus, since it isn’t the commitment of a full color, you won’t have to worry about frequent touch-ups.

Ruby Red

It’s a fact – ruby red pairs very well with Asian skin tones. A good rule is to opt for brown tones at the roots and tips of your hair with the ruby red adding depth as a highlight color. If you are worried about your red fading fast (which it actually does) protect it by shampooing less often and using sun protection when you go outdoors, even on cloudy days.

Shades of Violet

Violet, lilac blonde, lavender, and plum are great choices to embrace color this fall. Depending on which side of your personality you wish to showcase, you can consider going for the wow factor with a full dye job in ultra violet, or choose a soft lilac blonde for the demure look. An all-over blackberry color will create a more spirited effect and if you are not feeling too adventurous, you could consider going with simply lavender tips.

Classic Rose Gold

As the days begin to darken, you can keep things bright with the classic rose gold look. It is warm and blends well with most skin tones and complexions. There is so much to like about this hair color, especially its style flexibility – it is elegant and playful at the same time. And if you’re looking to go the more subtle route, classic rose gold also works really well as a highlight for dark brown hair.

Chestnut Brown

Chestnut brown is a good choice if you want to keep your dark hair looking natural, but with warmer, richer undertones. It’s an earthy color that won’t compromise your natural look but will instead help you add some dimension to your hair. You can, of course, brighten it up with lighter tips or with highlights in a neutral shade.

Here at Reflect Beauty, we advise everyone to experiment, safely!  If you’re looking to try a new color, buy a wig to test the waters first!  You could also opt for temporary dyes as you lock in on the color that you’d lock to rock more permanently.  Finally, although we are DIY advocates, hair color is no joke.  We recommend consulting with a good colorist and proceeding from there!  Good luck and happy experimenting!

Which color will you be trying this fall?!
