My first cosmetology classes started with my grandmother when I was about 8 years old. We had similar complexions, so I was able to master what colors worked for me, as well as how to apply product to my face. What I never grasped was how to enhance my stubby, maybe even invisible lashes.
Fast-forward 20-something years later, and my hand is still shaky AF when applying mascara. And, if that isn’t tragic enough, the mascara always rubs and smears against my eyeglasses!
I take no delight in wearing contacts just so I can comfortably wear mascara to enhance my eyelashes, and if my hand isn’t steady enough to apply mascara, gluing strips is a disaster waiting to happen. Moreover, I don’t have the patience or concentration to get individual lashes put on by a professional; at this point, I’d need a TEDx to get through the whole process!
This is why I’m excited about the trend of magnetic lashes!
YES! There is finally a solution for elongated lashes without all the fuss and failure.
As you probably guessed it, magnetic lashes are indeed false lashes secured with magnets, not glue. They are pretty easy to apply and come in various styles from natural to dramatic.
Next time you make a Target or Walmart run, consider picking up a pair. They come in handy when you need to look professional and polished in a short amount of time. What I love about them is they’re applicable to both the upper and lower lashes. Plus the risk of ripping out your real eyelashes is not so high.
If you want the Audrey Hepburn look without the hassle, give magnetic eyelashes a try. Hot brands include Lilly Lashes by Lilly Ghalichi, Ardell, Kiss and Lash’d Up.
