Fashion month is in full swing, with New York Fashion Week having just concluded shows around the city. Multicultural designers like Sergio Hudson, Samantha Black, and BruceGlen Collection hosted runway shows and presentations for their spring/summer 2024 collections.

Brands and organizations came through with major fashion events like Harlem’s Fashion Row’s Fashion Show & Style Awards and the Essence Fashion House activation. And the NYC influencer community turned out in all their diverse glory, supporting the designs and showcasing their bold expressions of style.

These influencers of color have massive audiences who look to them for style and beauty inspiration, and they came absolutely correct from head-to-toe, putting on a show outside the shows. Come with us on a journey of the most stylish, trend-forward, unique, and flat-out fire street style snaps we spotted while scrolling our #NYFW Insta feeds.

Tiffany M. Battle @tiffanymbattle

New York-based creator Tiffany Battle snapped with the epic textured sleeves on this A.W.A.K.E. MODE top, chunky jewelry pieces, and almost full-coverage white beads on center-parted braids for New York Fashion Week. She finished her look with smoky avant-garde eye makeup and a matte nude lip.

M A S H A M I @qveen.machiiii

Mashami gave us a color palette we don’t often see paired, but the way she utilized the sandwich method to separate the shades of purple, accented by orange accessories, truly pops! She kept her makeup simple and natural with a standout glossy pout.

Frilancy Hoyle @frilancy

This photo is such a moment! The pose and outfit were giving movement, playfulness, and feminine fun. Frilancy’s vibrant pink frock was utterly fabulous, her skin was on glow, and her ‘fro was magic.

Jenny Delarosa-Espinal @jennyydelarosa

Jenny Delarosa showed off glowy, clean beauty with a touch of rosy color on her eyes, cheeks, and lips for her first NYFW. She wore her hair in a slick rope braid ponytail, letting her A.W.A.K.E. MODE multi-circle dress stay in the spotlight.

Erica Jones @storybehindthelook & Pam Harris @theestylishp

We couldn’t help but do a double take at this stylishly print-clad pair of showgoers in their traffic-stopping colors and accessories. Both looks were a feast for the eyes, from bold colors to mixed prints and geometric patterns.

Monica Awe-Etuk @awedbymoni

This L’AGENCE suit was already the epitome of cool, but Monica took it up a notch, adding a Chanel belt, earrings, bracelets, and twin mini heart bags. And let’s not forget about the extra-long goddess braids that completed the look.

Aisha Beau Frisbey @aishabeau

Aisha kept the Renaissance Tour energy going with her Beyoncé cutoff concert tee, metallic utility skirt, and pops of bright red on her lips, bag, and boots.

Jenee’ @jeneenaylor

Jenee’ slipped an A.W.A.K.E. MODE dress in a chocolate brown color that melted into her skin over a pair of chic white wide-leg trousers for the Proenza Schouler SS24 show. A deep red lip, signature short haircut, and coordinating sunnies made for a seriously stylish look.

Chee Smalls @browngirl_chee

Nothing says “main character energy,” like a leather moto jacket-inspired dress in bright yellow. Pairing hers with knee-high snakeskin boots, dark glasses, and a high pony made Chee Smalls an entire vibe for the Samantha Black show.

Kéla Walker @kelawalker

Kéla Walker proved that everything comes back around in fashion in a vintage ‘90s suit from her mother’s closet for the Sergio Hudson show. She donned a wavy bob and matte red lip and made the suit her own with black lace gloves, strappy sandals, and an oversized pearl necklace.
