Natural hair is having its Fenty Beauty moment. Celebrity and indie hair care brands are popping up left and right — with Beyoncé being the latest entrepreneur to jump into the billion-dollar industry. Her new haircare line, Cécred, just dropped and the early reviews are overwhelmingly positive. 

It’s wild to see Beyonce – along with Taraji P. Henson and Tracee Ellis Ross — making products for Black hair when the natural hair community is still in its infancy. Less than twenty years ago, perms and relaxers were Black women’s go-to hairstyle. Today? More than 40 percent of Black women are wearing their hair in their most natural state.
