When a celebrity launches a beauty line, we tend to be a bit weary. But when that celeb happens to be multi-hyphenate Ayesha Curry, we’re a lot less skeptical.
Curry—who is a renowned chef, restaurateur, and businesswoman, as well as wife to NBA star Steph Curry—recently added beauty entrepreneur to her resume with the launch of Sweet July Skin.
But this isn’t just another celeb vanity project. Inspired by her mother and grandmother, Sweet July Skin is an ode to Curry’s Jamaican roots.

At launch, Curry’s Instagram caption read, “They’ve always known the power of Caribbean ingredients and the magic they can bring to our skin. So, I took that knowledge and combined nutrient-packed foods like guava, papaya and lychee seeds to create simple yet effective products that will make your daily skin care routine feel like a self care retreat.”
She goes on to describe how the clean formulas work with the superfoods’ active ingredients to bring on “proven, visible results.”
Since her launch this past July, she’s added a new product to the line, Castaway Cream, a moisturizer with a lightweight texture and maximum hydration. She describes it as having a “delicate island scent”—which is also what inspired the name.

The name of this clarifying face oil comes from the Jamaican expression “everything irie” which means all is well. Salicylic acid, neem seed, and tumeric root come together to combat congestion and inflammation and to provide a visible glow.
