Founded in 2022 by Model Marianne Fonseca, Gente Beauty is a line of body care products that uses native Brazilian ingredients and biotechnology to treat areas of your skin with self-lymphatic drainage methods. Currently, the line consists of two creams: The Lymphatic Drainage Effect and Bye Bye Cellulite, made up of all vegan ingredients.

However, their most intriguing product to date is their body contour tool, which is—you guessed it—a large-looking gua sha but for the body. Their website shows example videos of the tool being rubbed against someone’s upper thigh and down their leg. They even have a how-to guide to discuss their self lymphatic drainage technique and share exactly how it works.
Wanting to know more, Reflect Beauty talked to co-founder Marianne Fonseca to get the inside scoop behind their tool. She tells us, “Gente was created to talk about how we approach beauty in Brazil and our culture in body care. I couldn’t find lymphatic drainage products in the USA, and the variety of body care products isn’t very good. So, I decided to create Gente since in Brazil, we have so many body care products, and I could really explore exotic ingredients and make unique products for the US market and the rest of the world.”
When asked the exact purpose of the tool, Fonesca shared with us, “The Body Contour Tool makes it easier to reach some parts of the body that the hands can’t get to and that it massages the skin more evenly. It’s important to use your hands for self-lymphatic massage, but the tool is an extra help to smooth the skin in concerned areas in a more efficient way than the hands can.”
Followed by prominent figures like Hailey Bieber and Marta Mae, Gente is embarking on an exciting journey to revolutionize the body care industry through the power of Brazilian innovation. While not yet widely embraced, we anticipate that Gente will be a forthcoming trend, much like how gua sha quickly captured the attention of the internet.
