#ReflectBeauties Spotlight: ULoveMegz

By Nikki Walton

Megan Little (@ulovemegz) is a Los Angeles based beauty vlogger. Her thousands of fans look to her for everything from healthy hair care to easy makeup tutorials to product reviews to healthy living routines.
I recently got to chat with the 2019 Reflect Beauty Award judge (the RBAs is a celebration that honors the very best in makeup, haircare, and skincare products for women of all skin tones and hair textures, featuring culturally-relevant video tutorials, targeted editorials, and fabulous beauty box giveaways), and beauty bombshell, on her self care and love rituals. Check it out!
On her morning routine…
Well, I open my eyes first, and start my morning routine with prayer! I feel like that conversation with God should be the first thing in the morning. I tend to start my bathing routine in silence; I need that time entirely alone for about 20 minutes. Time with myself allows me to be clear and ready to take on the day. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and the most important because it sets the tone for my day. Two scrambled eggs, half of an avocado and a grapefruit is how I like to get my grub on.
On why she created her channel…
I created my Youtube channel by request of the ladies on the internet. I was a part of a popular haircare forum at the time and was getting many questions and content requests on how I cared for and styled my hair and how I achieved specific makeup looks. My father was encouraging me to start a hobby that I enjoyed because I had few leisure activities that I was a part of after graduating from high school. I loved all things beauty, and he noticed that I watched many Youtube beauty videos. My sister Ashley along with the many ladies on the haircare forum, suggested that I start a Youtube channel! So it wasn’t necessarily my idea alone, but I decided to go forward with it, and I am happy I did because it changed my life!
On becoming #Megz2.0…
The biggest habit I have now is SELF LOVE, and with that comes better life practices such as having a healthier diet and working out. I got myself a trainer in 2017, and it’s the best thing that I’ve done for myself because it keeps me accountable.
On her biggest lesson learned in 2019…
Things work out even when they don’t work out. I no longer stress about things that are not under my direct control. I’ve learned to accept the reality and lesson of certain situations in life to move forward as a better person.
On what she’s reading right now…
I don’t have a specific read right now, but I am reading a lot about real estate at the moment since that is one of my interests outside of the beauty industry that I would like to explore.
On what she’s doing to stay centered during this time of self-quarantine…
I am centering myself with positive things and people. Talking to friends and family during this time helps me stay clear, and exploring new hobbies has been great for me at this time.
On what’s up next…
I have a few things in the works right now that I can’t share too much about yet, but I am very excited about what the rest of this year has to offer, even though we started on the rough side of things. You can look forward to new content via my social media accounts, of course; interacting with all my friends via social media!
