There’s nothing like heading into the start of a new season to make us crave a new hairstyle. Selena Gomez is no different, having shown off a new, freshly cut lob on the red carpet for the inaugural Rare Impact Fund Benefit event hosted by her brand, Rare Beauty, in Los Angeles.

The long, sleek bob is a gorgeous dark brown and if you look closely, you can see shades of warm chocolate brown on the ends. Selena wore her lob with a center part, which gives the look two styling options: wearing it all down, framing her face or tucking it behind one or both ears.

For Selena’s first outfit of the night, a long silver sequined halter neck gown, she wore her hair tucked behind just one ear to showcase sparkling chandelier earrings. Later, Selena wore her lob tucked behind both ears during her second appearance on the red carpet in a stunning one-shoulder giant purple flower mini dress moment, and again while hosting the event in a mock neck mini dress with a jungle motif.

You don’t have to be making a red carpet appearance to lean into a new look for fall. The lob is an on-trend option if you’re longing for a fresh cut or growing out a shorter style. We’ve rounded up a few inspirational photos for you to share with your hairstylist so they can help you decide which one you might fall in love with.

Barrel-Curled Lob

We love how Lori Harvey’s giant barrel curls make her side-parted lob look soft, feminine, and luxurious.

Wispy Layered Lob

Influencer Tina Leung’s wispy layered blonde bob has deeply cut layers, with the longest falling just below her shoulders.

Extra Blunt Lob

Aimee Song’s bob is straightforward and textured with a hint of bronze highlights.

‘60s-Inspired Lob

Coco Jones switched out her long locks for a shoulder-skimming blunt bob that gave ‘60s mod vibes. The satin headband, side part, and bangs swept over her forehead and behind her ear softened the cut.

Multi-Dimensional Lob

Rochelle Johnson gives her shoulder-length bob extra dimension with color. Her ombré look is dark at the roots and mixes in blondes and browns towards the ends of the hair.

Are you ready for a slight chop this fall? What version of the lob will you try?
