If you’ve been on Instagram and Tiktok lately you know the hottest product out right now is Rare Beauty’s Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oils. Since launching in 2020, Rare Beauty has become one of the most groundbreaking makeup lines from their top-notch product quality to how they give back to the community. In fact, 1% of all sales goes directly to the Rare Impact Fund to expand mental health services and education for young people. Rare Beauty is a brand that I have grown to love more and more over the years since I first tried it. Their tinted moisturizer is a fave for those no-makeup makeup days when I still want to look put together while picking up my kids from school. So, naturally, I was super excited to give their new lip oils a try.

While at my local Sephora, I had the pleasure to meet Kourtney Addison, Pro Artist for Rare Beauty. She was so awesome to speak with and had such a wealth of knowledge on all things Rare Beauty. Here’s what she had to say about the hot new lip oils. “Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Tinted lip oils use sunflower seed oil and jojoba oil as the base with a tint in it. So what happens is the oils actually absorb into the skin and moisturize the lips and then you’re left with the tint. The tint develops over time. The more you put on, the more pigmented the tint is going to become. And what I really enjoy about it, because it’s a thinner formula, you can keep reapplying it and it doesn’t get gummy.” Addison also mentioned that a lot of lip oils on the market are really glosses whereas Rare Beauty is actually a true lip oil.

Because they’ve gone super viral on Tiktok, the Rare Beauty lip oils were completely sold out in stores and online. I was however grateful to try the product since Addison had testers with her. She took one look at my chocolate complexion and recommended that I swatch Serenity, Wonder, and Affection. Here are my thoughts!

I loved how smooth the lip oils glided on my skin. They felt comfortable with a beautiful glossy shine without the typical thick glossy feel. One awesome standout was the amazing color payoff. When I used my finger to wipe off the oil, the color stayed and my skin still felt moisturized. I’ve never used a lip oil that performed this way. I love the look and feel of the product and I can definitely see it being a staple in my makeup bag.

Be sure to stay on the lookout for when Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Tinted lip oils come back in stock because I’m definitely obsessed and I think you will be, too.
