Harlem Perfume Co.

Harlem Perfume Co. launched this year as the newest addition to the Harlem Candle Co. Teri Johnson founded the candle company in 2013 as a manifestation of her love affair with fragrance, jazz, and Harlem. Heavily influenced by Johnson’s life in Harlem, New York, each of her candles – and now perfumes – take inspiration from notable figures of the Harlem renaissance.

Harlem Perfume Co.’s debut fragrance is named after the iconic Billie Holiday. The singer was known for wearing white gardenia flowers in her hair, which serve as a key fragrance profile in the perfume.
