Asian hair is absolutely stunning with its natural shine and thickness! From Yoko Ono to Brenda Song and Ally Wong, mainstream media tends to focus on longer Asian tresses, but short styles are cutting it too!
Summer is the perfect time to have some fun with your hair. Ready to snip those ends and set them trends?! Here is some inspiration for your next look.
Razor cut some layers into the hair. This gives a softer look while adding body and texture. You can add chunkier layers for a more dramatic style.
Add subtle layers using thinning scissors to help hair lay flatter. Asian hair naturally has depth and dimension. Using thinning scissors to cut layers into the hair will give it a less drastic layered look. You can make the layered look as subtle as you want it.
Do a side-swept bang. This look is flirty and fun — yet studious, should you decide to pull the longer pieces into a top knot or bun. Cutting a longer bang will create some versatility in your everyday look.
Taper the hair to frame the face. Not only is a pixie cut a sexy go-to ‘do for the summer, but this style also helps reduce volume and make the hair more manageable. If you have a rounder face shape, be cautious of how this particular cut will draw attention to it.
Have you done some type of chop before? Was it a bang or a completely new look? We’d love to hear about your experiences!
